I, for one, am proud to be from the “Show Me”
state. I’m proud to have grown up in the chaos of 10 kids in an upstairs flat
in University City and later with one bath and no shower in Rock Hill, MO. I’m proud to have survived
12 years in Catholic schools back when that meant something. I’m proud to have
gone to a boys military high school and I’m proud to have been a pizza cook at Farrotto’s
Pizzeria (still near the corner of Manchester Rd. and Rock Hill Rd. after over
50 years) for money enough to buy my date a hamburger and put 3 dollars in the
tank on a Friday night. And I’m thankful for my Mom and Dad for what they
taught me about endurance. I turned out to be Conservative.

After millions of years of evolution, I’m here by sheer biological coincidence. I suppose I should feel grateful for this life of mine, but often I don’t. I live in my head but I find fantasy worlds boring.
I have a low opinion of people in general. Most of them are rather ignorant and over-rate their own level of knowledge and expertise. I have the greatest amount of respect for people who are conscious of what they don’t know and are open about it. I’m paranoid and cynical and I resent having to write a personal profile by which I assume people, I don’t even know, are going to judge me.
I have bachelor’s degree in nursing but I now live in Kaohsiung, a port city in south Taiwan, and teach ESL at a private school.

The past few decades has featured my overseas teaching experience (in many subjects) in many places such as Taipei, Tokyo, Bangkok, Islamabad, Warsaw, Kuwait, Kaohsiung, and now Kingston.
I am no Democrat, Republican, nor do I like being labeled an Independent. I am radically moderate, left-wing, or right-wing, depending on the topic.
